3 Best Apps for Your Quiet Time
Quiet time: the little date moments with God where you can spend some quality time with one another.
Just like all dates, 1. it’s a special moment, and 2. how you do it will unfold as you spend more and more time together.
As my quiet time has evolved, I’ve become an avid user of apps to dive deeper into the Word and help “organize” my prayers. It’s also been a way to connect with other people in their own journey when doing devotionals!
Here’s 3 of my favorite apps to help with your quiet time:
Best For Bible Reading: YouVersion Bible App
features: Different Bible Versions, Devotional, Prayer, Add Friends
Bible app has a plethora of resources and personally the best start for your quiet time! Top three reasons why i love it:
Devotionals for literally anythingggg you’re going through - emotionally, chapter of life, skills, etc.
Daily verse of the day which comes with a little encouragement video/snippet of a devo, short prayer
Different versions of the bible! Because the bible is translated from the original Hebrew/Greek, it’s always useful to study the Word with different versions to gain insight on the nuances that could be lost in certain translations **
Top three for me: ESV, The Passion Translation, New King James**
Best For Guided Prayer: ChurchHome
features: Guided prayers, Live Chat w Pastors, Community (online and local)
ChurchHome is the community and experience spearheaded by Pastor Judah Smith. I’ve been an avid user of the app particularly for its daily guided prayers. It’s similar to a guided meditation, focusing on a truth in the bible, praying it over yourself, and extending it to those around you.
In addition to this feature it does have online church services for all ages, a place where you can connect with locals on the app, and pastor chat - a feature in which you can chat with a live pastor and pray/seek mentorship/etc.
Best for Bible Study: First 5
features: in-depth bible studies
Created by Proverbs 31 Ministries, the First 5 app provides access to a multitude of bible studies and guides through each book in the bible.
It’s aesthetics are just as great as the insight each study provides, giving a new perspective and focus on each book of the bible.
