Happy Anniversary: A letter to You
Happy 1-year anniversary, BAEs!
I’m no mom, but I would assume the mix of feelings I’m experiencing is similar to a mother’s on their child’s first birthday. My mind flip-flopping between wow, we survived one entire year and wow this year flew by.
It’s been a wild ride, but to have gotten this far and keep eyes set on where God’s taking this community is altogether humbling.
In today’s very special blog, I want to bring one of my favorite practices to celebrate just how amazing this year has been – letter writing. A time to prayerfully thank God just how good He’s been to us.
Dear God,
Happy 1-year anniversary! One year since we’ve launched. One. Year. A lot can happen in a year, and if you’ve proven one thing it’s that. The molding, the pressing, the stirring. The highs of the mountains of excitement, the lows of frustration and question. It’s all there and it all happened with you.
No lie, Lord, I’ve had my doubts with you, with this ministry, with who you’ve called us to be, but time and time again, you’ve captured my heart. You’ve constantly reminded not only myself, but each and every one of the BAE’s why we exist.
To stir in our spirits over and over again just how precious your daughters here on earth are, so much so that they deserve to live a life that knows you, their true identity, and live out their calling.
Between the fight of the flesh and spirit, your Holy Spirit came as a gentle whisper and with bold authority, reminding me of the greatness of the God I serve. You have shown me the intimacy of a Father, love, and friend, and for that I’m forever thankful.
This year led me to places unknown. You dared me to dream bigger, to lean deeper into faith.
It scared me, but you have given me six beautiful souls to be my tangible reminder just how beautiful it is to walk in this calling.
I thank you for their boldness. For their joy. For their love. I thank you that through them, I have my strength, my rock, my anchor. You have shaped them into women after God’s own heart, and to see them faithfully serve in this piece of their calling has been this past year’s biggest accomplishment.
Thank you. Again and again, thank you. you are more than enough. You have given more than enough, and to walk with you in this lifetime, with these BAE’s is more than enough.
I love you and happy anniversary,
Jo
