You’re Busy… Doing What???

There are days where I’m just mindlessly scrolling through social media until something really catches my eye. As much as we all take time to think of the “perfect” caption for our posts, rarely will people actually read it (sadly). But lately, I’ve been taking my time to read captions and posts, because I’ve followed certain accounts to do exactly that.

Towards the end of January, Christine Caine posted something that inspired reflection and this blog post you’re reading right now.

Busyness vs. Fruitfulness

I really had to reflect on this. As this pandemic has persisted, I think most of us have either learned the importance of slowing down or how to become more productive. Ask yourself, “what’s the intention behind my productivity?”

I am surrounded by very Type A women. I love that! It gives me less stress to know there’s a plan, but you’ll never catch me writing down a play-by-play of how my day is going to go. All I have is a simple to-do list if there’s anything that needs to be done that day. I’ve become pretty lax since I graduated, which has felt like a bittersweet blessing, if that’s even a thing.

In a world that tells us to “Go! Go! Go!” (queue GoGo by BTS), how are you choosing to go about your days? Christine Caine’s post focused on John 15:8:

“My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples.”

We are called to be fruitful. This means that with whatever you do, it’s done with the intention of glorifying the Lord. If you’re called to a path that may drain you by the end of the day, it’s important that you fill yourself back up with the Lord. As the caption in her post says, “Our one and only life on earth is too important to waste time just staying busy...our fruitfulness is far more effective than busyness.”

Fruitfulness?

Don’t worry, it doesn’t always mean making babies!

The fruits of the Spirit consist of: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22). These things are God-produced. They are the result of intentions and actions done to serve the Lord.

A way to be fruitful is to give yourself wholeheartedly to the Lord. Kinda scary, huh? But trust me, it’s so worth it and no burden is too heavy for our Father to bear.

Allowing the Lord to be at the center of what you do and setting your intentions to glorify Him, results in fruitfulness. Your actions become a reflection of Him and His love.

I’d like to remind you all that it’s absolutely okay to take a break from time to time. When the world becomes too much, spend some time with the Lord. He is our comfort and our rest. During the times where you feel unmotivated, go back to Him and set your intentions for the goals you want to achieve.

Like I always say, the girls here at BAE would love to hear from you!

Praying for and loving you always,

Angeli <3
