How Do You Do?

When was the last time we thought of eternity?

We also know that at the end of our lives, we will all have to face God and recount our time here on Earth. We see in Matthew 25 a little glimpse on how it will be when we get to see God. We’ll take a look at the things we do here on Earth with Him and it is my deepest prayer that we all hear:

“Well done my good and faithful servant.”

We know that God expects 2 things from us: to love him and to love one another as ourselves.

And in pursuit of accomplishing these two things, how do we do that?

  1. Doing good

  2. Being faithful

To operate in these two principles requires us to first experience God’s character

God is good and He does good things (Psalms 119:68). He is also faithful to us (1 Thessalonians 5:24). We have the perfect example of goodness and faithfulness before us, seeing it in the bible time and time again and in our own lives.

This brings me to point number two -to reflect on our testimony, our personal experience of God.

When we acknowledge that God is good and faithful, take a moment to look at allllll the times in your life He’s done that for you. It will become a practice that overwhelms your heart and spirit, making us eternally grateful to serve a God who does unto us more than we deserve.

As a natural byproduct, you’ll see yourself evolve into wanting to do good and be faithful. It is out of this abundance of God’s presence and the power of the Holy Spirit that will bring us to be more like Christ.

It’s surely a process, and one that requires us to constantly make our hearts open to see God in the daily pieces of our life. But with that consistency and intention, the Holy Spirit will definitely transform our hearts and the way we live to ultimately hear “well done, my good and faithful servant”
