Out of Control
Graduating. Careers. Relationships. Ministry.
So many people around me, including myself, are going through pivotal transitions in their life. New seasons all seem to bring about a universal feeling (for many people).
You’re Out of Control
Uncertainty happens. It’ll always happen because we truly never know what our future holds, as much as we try to plan ahead or prepare. It brings about very valid feelings of fear and excitement.
The beautiful thing about this is that we’re not in control! That may sound crazy, but letting go of that tight grip of taking things into our own hands is the best thing you can do for yourself and your walk with God.
Proverbs 20:24 (NLT) says, “The Lord directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way?” When I read this, I think “well yeah, that makes sense,” but it’s way easier said than done.
This is not to say that everything is just going with the flow because even in seasons of waiting, we’re required to be proactive with our faith.
Even If…
In every and any season, don’t underestimate the power of prayer. When things are out of our control, there are three things I encourage you to pray for:
Discernment. Allow the Holy Spirit in to help you make the right decisions, big or small.
Patience. We work according to God’s timeline and sometimes things may take longer than others to happen.
Rest. Transitions often come with busyness, and we can often neglect ourselves and our spiritual well-being.
Even if we feel the need to take control of every little thing, we will always need the Lord. These three prayers take the pressure off that human need for control.
With whatever season you’re entering or are currently in, I’m excited for you, even if you’re not. The worries you have now can’t be compared to what God has in store for you!
Praying for and loving you always,
Angeli <3
