How to Stay Faithful in Your Calling
One of the hardest things to do is remain faithful to the season God is calling you.
Because, I’m not going to lie to you - the calling isn’t always glamorous. It doesn’t always look like parting the Red Sea or walking on water. Nor does it always look like turning water to wine.
Sometimes it looks like the faithful steps in the day and night walking in the wilderness.
Sometimes it looks like doing that assignment because God called you to steward your schoolwork well.
Sometimes it looks like investing your time in a project God’s placed in your heart, even if it seems like no one is listening.
In whatever way shape or form it may take, remain rooted in God.
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither- whatever they do prospers.
Psalms 1:1 - 3
Take this piece and let God’s promise for you sing over your soul.
For me, sometimes pursuing God feels like that friend who isn’t as excited for your plans as you are. And I’m saying to God “Yes Lord, let’s do this!!” and He hits me with the “yeah sure, we can.”
But God is heavily invested and if not more excited for the plans! He is the one who is making sure it’s going, getting everything ready, and preparing the map, snacks, hotel, itinerary for where he wants to bring you.
It may simply not be the season of fruit, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t going. Understand God asks you to delight in Him so that in his timing, he can bear the exact fruit He’s been cultivating within you.
It’s my prayer for you that you remain steadfast and faithful to your God, because even if you may not see it, he will see you through.
xx,
Jo
