It’s Okay to Start Over

Over the course of a year, I’ve had a lot of unlearning and relearning to do. It became a pivotal moment in my life when I had to reflect and realize that I’ve had it all wrong for so long.

What I mean by this is re-sanctifying the areas of my life that I allowed the world to alter. Those things being the expectations I have of my relationships, the ways my past has molded me, and how God is able to use me regardless of what I think I deserve.

Starting over is never easy. It can be an uncomfortable season to be in when you have to unlearn the things you’ve been so accustomed to, but one of the beautiful things about our God is that He makes us new each and every day.

Re-Sanctification

To Sanctify:

  • to free from sin: PURIFY

  • to impart or impute sacredness, inviolability or respect to

(Merriam-Webster)

The past is something most of us have the tendency to dwell in. If you’re like me, I felt defined by my past mistakes, as though I could never be redeemed from them. They were just going to be a part of my life and I'd just keep going on hoping something better would happen.

I want to remind you that the past has absolutely no hold over you.

Your sin will never be bigger than what God has for you.

The process of re-sanctification is rooting yourself in God’s Truth, the Word, and also stripping yourself of the things that are holding you back from your God-given purpose.

Sometimes we can get comfortable in circumstances that push us into insecurity, in distrust, etc. but we can’t grow without taking a leap of faith into starting over. Starting over may look like no longer hanging out with certain friends, no longer allowing yourself to indulge in self-deprecating thoughts, allowing yourself to decrease to let God increase in your life…whatever it may be, it’s never too late to give yourself to the Lord wholeheartedly.

Simply put, re-sanctifying your life is dying to yourself in order to have God take over and transform your life.

“Re-Sanctification” is the word of my current season. Maybe it’s yours too!

BAE would love to hear about how God is transforming your life! Don’t be shy and reach out!

Praying for and Loving you always,

Angeli <3
