Power of Love

Hey, BAE’s!

It’s February and as ALWAYS we honor the idea that it’s the “season of love”.

Valentine’s day is pasted everywhere. It’s super cheesy. BUT I am a firm believer it’s the best time to reflect on the power of love in our lives and relationships.

3 Truths on the Power of Love

  1. Love casts out fear

There is no fear in love, and perfect love casts out all fear

    1 John 4:18

God is love embodied. He is perfect. And His perfect love casts out all fear. It is in the moments we try to introduce our excuses and circumstances that creates all this fear and anxiety around situations. But when we lean into Jesus there is hope, reassurance, and peace that He gives us, knowing in faith that His will will be done.

  2. Love pleases the Lord

If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

    1 Corinthians 13:2

To do things in love is necessary to please the Lord. It is what makes it meaningful and worthy to bring to God.

This month, be intentional about the things that you do asking yourself - am I doing this out of love? We can oftentimes get caught up in the redundancy of what we do, or have a heart hardened towards the things that are required, but do what it is that love requires.

  3. Love remains

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

    1 Corinthians 13:13

It’s a beautiful thought to know that what we do here on Earth also mirrors itself to an eternal scale. Today, take a moment to think about eternity. Not forever in the confines of your existence on Earth, but eternity with Jesus in Heaven.

You will be accounting for everything done here on this Earth. Some of it will fade, but the things that will remain is faith hope and love. It is my prayer that you will understand the greatest of these - love - and choose to constantly live out a life that mirrors it in all things you do. And when you do come to the place where you face your Creator, you will be able to receive the crowns and bask in His presence knowing you’ve done well as His good and faithful servant.
