Rest Easy
Happy Summer, BAE’s!
The best season to bask in the long, summer days and take in all the chill vibes is finally upon us. It’s officially resting season and I want you to fully embrace it! Without guilt! Because we are called to rest.
Resting is a holy act
Culturally, we are consumed with goals and productivity. Granted, we are meant for a purpose, not just to merely exist, but the Lord has prepared a time for everything – and that includes rest.
Why do we rest?
God rested.
In Genesis, we know that God rested on the seventh day. Seeing that lit very own Creator rested shows us even more that we ourselves are called to do so.
It creates space for God.
We have lots of responsibilities. And those can easily take priority over God if we allow it. Once I finish xyz, I’ll make time for God. And that cycle can continue much longer than we need.
God has commanded us to be still and know that He is God. In resting, it is a gesture of worship that we acknowledge His role in our lives and we ourselves our limited.
You need to be intentional about it
When you make that space to rest – ask yourself:
What is my intention?
We can rest to clear our mind, get organized, or to step away for a minute.
What does rest look like for me?
What is it that I need to create space away from
What am I welcoming in?
Having intentional rest is different than resting in the three minutes between your busy schedule of the day. Intentional rest is one that you plan into your day and purposefully let God in and let go of the pieces that don’t serve you.
It is our hope and prayer at BAE that you challenge yourself to intentionally rest and rest in the presence of God.

Love always,
