Trusting the Process
To piggyback off of Jonah, reframing the way you see your goals (as eternal) means you also need to reframe the way you look at the process towards those goals.
Unfortunately the holiday season is over, but like many Christians say, you should treat everyday like Christmas: acknowledging the reason for the season. What I mean by this is reframing the various moments in the current season we’re in as having purpose.
‘Tis the Season
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is a beautiful reminder that there is a season or time for everything. These verses have given me the reassurance to trust in God’s plan for me and that despite going through tough times, it is happening for a reason, His reason.
Sometimes we won't even really understand why things are happening, but that’s when faith comes into play. Our God is faithful and we can declare victory over our circumstances; trust His process and timing.
Slow Seasons
We’re often in a rush to get things done, it’s just what we’re all used to nowadays. But what if God has called you into a season of slowing down?
Recently I read something that said “slow seasons are for planting seeds” and this totally ties into Ecc. 3:2b. Planting seeds can mean evangelizing and encouraging others with the word, but it can also mean taking the time to create goals and begin to cultivate them with and through Christ
If you’re like me, there is so much I want to do: travel, teach abroad, work, etc, but that requires me to start somewhere. Before or even right after writing down your goals, your first step should be prayer. Pray for discernment, wisdom, and guidance, and even the softening of your heart to accept any consequences (negative or positive) of pursuing these goals.
No matter what season you’re currently in, we’d love to hear about it and support you. You are definitely not alone in pursuing your goals, who can be against you when you have our almighty God on your side AND your favorite BAE’s!?
Praying for and loving you always,
Angeli <3
