Sprinkles of Encouragement - Happy AAPI Heritage Month!

Hey BAE’s!!

Happy Asian-American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month!!

For today’s little sprinkle of encouragement, I want to remind you all that cultural and societal standards do not define you, whether you meet them or not.

I know that many of you reading may be able to relate when I say that there seems to be a lot of expectations surrounding those in the AAPI community. This includes: academic, beauty, and career standards.

It’s as if we are expected to check off all the boxes to fit in or be seen as an example of “success.”

But our goal isn’t to please and praise man, it’s to glorify the Lord as we are, in all humility.

It takes a lot to allow yourself to be vulnerable, to admit faults, express insecurity. It’s okay to not fit into the standards of man because we’ve been called to different standards.

Obviously, if we were to try and please others, we wouldn’t stand out as God’s people.

You’ve been called to be different, to make a difference. And I pray that you will lean into your calling regardless of what others may think or say.

Praying for and Loving You Always,

Angeli <3
