Ten Journal Prompts to Dive Deeper with God

Hey, BAE!

Journaling has been one of the most significant parts of my walk with God. When I was seven, my ninang (godmother) gifted me a pretty purple and red journal with a butterfly to record my thoughts because I was suuuch an anxious kid. Naturally, the Lord used this to bring me into a place where He and I could keep record of our prayers and our relationship together.

It has been the place where I have noted the deepest prayers He’s moved in, the revelations He’s spoken. It’s kept record of prophetic words, the lowest of moments God has been my hope, and the testimonies I never thought we’d get out of.

I know journaling may not be something that comes naturally to all of us. Many of us may look at the blank page and write maaaybe a paragraph. Maybe a line. So this week I wanted to give you 10 journal prompts to draw you deeper in your relationship with God

10 journal prompts to dive deeper with God

  1. How would you define your relationship with God in this season? Are you in a season where He’s your friend, father, partner, or maybe something else?

  2. Who are 5 people you’re thankful God brought into your life? What have they taught you about God’s character? About yourself?

  3. Define the relationship you have with yourself. If you saw your relationship with yourself as a friend, do you like how you treat and speak to them?

  4. What has been your biggest heartbreak? This can (but doesn’t have to be) relational, a cause, etc.

  5. Who are you in God’s eyes? Write a list of 5 things God’s told you about your identity.

  6. Take note of 5 things you and God are proud of accomplishing – big or little!

  7. It’s your first day in Heaven and you’re facing God. He hits you with the “well done, my good and faithful servant” – what legacy have you left on Earth to help accomplish for His Kingdom?

  8. Imagine you are 80 years old and looking back at the life God and you have lived together – what does that look like? Feel free to be as detailed as you want!

  9. What is it that holds you back from accomplishing your dreams?

  10.  Write for 2 minutes what God has been so so good to you about.

And before we go – SHAMELSS PLUG – if you’re new to journaling and looking for one, or a journal type of person and looking for a new one, we have our very own BAE journal that you can purchase here!
