On Routine

Hey BAE’s!

Are there ever times where you get tired of routine? Like everyday is the same?

The idea of routine can be very comforting for a lot of people. Personally, I struggle with needing routine but wanting some sort of spontaneity. But how does that work?

What Works for You?

I’d like to mention again that I’m not too much of a Type A person, but there are certain things I like having control over. When it comes to school, I need to have dedicated days to study and do work. As for work, I just need to know when I’m needed. And most importantly, for any sort of trip, I need to have an itinerary.

I think that as I get older, I’m developing a little more appreciation for routine because it really saves me from feeling too overwhelmed.

Something I am constantly trying to get better at is having discipline. This means including rest and quiet time into my daily schedule on top of what’s already on my plate. I’m not perfect at it, but I’m trying my best.

Wise with Time

There are days where I seem a little too ambitious. God gave us 24 hours in a day for a reason and it allows us to be more intentional about what we do.

If you’re just starting out or getting back into your relationship with Christ, it’s a good idea to allot time to spend quality time with Him. This can be as soon as you wake up, during your lunch break, or when you’re settling in for the night.

The goal is to become more intentional with your time with Him. Intentionality doesn’t mean when it’s convenient. So, as you build up your discipline, maybe instead of sleeping in, you can spend a little more time with God in the morning.

During a bible study, Hannah’s brother MJ briefly talked about really incorporating God throughout the day. This meant putting in the effort to mention God in conversations with those around him, listening to God-centered music more, and praying more during his day.

Here at BAE, you’ll notice the ongoing theme of being intentional.

As I slowly come to like the idea of routine, I keep reminding myself about the intention behind it: the intention of spending time with the Lord and glorifying Him everyday.

Again, nobody’s perfect and God sees our efforts.

Praying for and Loving you always,

Angeli <3
